Boots of the month of December

Agraro's boots of the month of December
Acton
This December it's the turn of the last pair of wellies I've presented in the last three years. The Acton, from Canada. I saw these wellies in a Canadian online shop and immediately liked them. But unfortunately, none of the shops that offered them delivered to Switzerland. So I resigned myself to it. A few months later, I was contacted by a Canadian who was interested in Nora, which no European shop would ship to Canada either. So we made a deal. I would get Nora for him and he would buy Acton for me. It worked out brilliantly. So I got the boots I wanted and he got his.
To be honest, my joy after unpacking these rubber boots was limited. They didn't look bad, but not as good as in the pictures in the shop. The rubber is very thin. They smelled of chemicals. The fit on the foot is not really great. You only feel better in them with very thick socks. The shine of the rubber really bothered me. At the time, I preferred matt rubber. Despite the disappointment, I went for a few walks in them and even took a few photos.
Acton is still available to buy today. On the internet I saw the Acton Protecto, the safety version of the ones I have. There are also wading boots and waders of the Protecto model from Acton. Otherwise, the picture is the same as everywhere else. Acton now mainly uses synthetic rubber boots, which unfortunately don't look particularly good.
Now I hope that you have enjoyed the 35 pairs of wellies that I have presented. They are all rubber boots from my rubber boot collection, which numbers over 100 pairs. Over the years, a lot has accumulated. Some of them are real rarities that are rarely found today. I would like to thank you for your loyalty to this series.
The meeting at Lake Gruyère will continue until further notice. I will also be organising one in 2024. As usual, I will announce the date in February 2024.
